Eppy

What it is

Eppy is an special app for people with epilepsy. Users can update all of their information in the system of the app. For example when they get an attack, if they have a stressfull day or if they are tired. Also they can put a medication schedule in it. When medication is needed, this app gives an alarm.
When a person feels the attack is coming there is a special button on this app. It shows the aid workers and the bystanders exactly what they have to do, and specific what they don’t have to do. Because of that information is it possible for the bystanders to contact the contact persons who are adjusted. Eppy has also a follow system, if the user wants to walk or to cycle a route by itself. Parents or contact persons can check where the user ascertains.

why it is cool

It is really cool because it gives people with epilepsy more freedom and safety. Normally they are limited because they need always people around themselves. An attack can be really dangerous because it can happen anytime and everywhere. If they feel the attack is coming, bystanders and aid workers can help in the good way. Instead of doing it wrong, they get instructions how to do it well. For every individual it’s different how to help. No unnecessary calls for 112, so they can help other people who really need it. No unnecessary costs for care. It’s cool that users can contact their doctor, it’s a cheaper and efficient way to do it like that. The technology in care with the social web is really working. The quality of life can be raised. It would be nice if more apps like this can be developped for different diseases. And it’s already becoming more and more, for example the buikbuddy app for people with the disease of crohn.
